Castellon Airport (CDT) is sold by airlines as the secondary airport for the city of Valencia. This airport is located close to Valencia, but it is not located in Valencia city, it is about 100km away.
One of the most common mistakes people make when travelling is not planning their journey properly. Many people fly into any airport without thinking or planning how they are going to get to their final destination; and Castellon Airport, being small, does not have the transport services that other larger airports such as Valencia, Barcelona or Madrid have.
There are several advantages of flying to or from Castellon Airport (CDT). The airlines operating out of this airport are continually launching exclusive offers with very low fares. It is a small airport, so the baggage check-in and boarding process is very quick and easy. Also, currently, if you fly from Castellon Airport, parking is free and guarded, so you can leave your car parked for the duration of your trip without any problems.
The region of Castellon, known as Costa Azahar, is attractive in its own right and is a territory to be discovered. With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, the sun is guaranteed and its beaches are not overcrowded at all. But Castellon is not only sun and beach, it is also mountainous. It is the second most mountainous province in Spain and offers countless opportunities for travellers who enjoy rural tourism, mountain walks, natural parks, beautiful villages, tradition… But now we are talking about visiting Valencia.
So, if you are visiting Valencia and are planning to fly into Castellon Airport (CDT), this guide is of interest to you, as it provides up-to-date information on all ground transport options at Castellon Airport, and the approximate cost of getting to the city of Valencia.
How to get to Valencia from Castellon Airport
First of all, and going back to the reference we made at the beginning of this article about the importance of planning your journey, at Castellon Airport you cannot take the Valencia Metro, nor can you take any train. There is no train station at Castellon Airport. I have noticed that this is one of the most common mistakes. People search for information about Valencia Airport and find that there is a Metro Station at the airport, but Castellon Airport is sold as Castellon-Valencia Airport because of its proximity but it is not Valencia Airport (VLC), it is Castellon Airport (CDT).
Having said that, let’s take a look at the different options for getting to Valencia from Castellon airport.
